This tour visits the ‘Granite City’ of Aberdeen where we include visits to a variety of attractions in the area. Including Haddo Castle, Pitmedden Gardens, Gordan Highlanders museum and Grampian Transport Museum.

DAY ONE

Depart from home in the morning travelling to The Aberdeen Altens Hotel. 4 nights stay – dinner, bed, and breakfast. Tea and coffee served on arrival.

DAY TWO

After breakfast we travel to Pitmedden Garden & Museum of Farming Life. This walled garden contains over 30,000 bedding plants, 6 miles of clipped box hedging, and over 200 fruit trees. The museum brings to life the agricultural heritage of the local area. We then journey to Oldmeldrum for our lunchtime stop before making the short drive to Haddo House & Garden. Visit the delightful terrace garden with flower beds, lovely borders, and a fountain. A magnificent avenue of lime trees leads to adjacent Haddo Country Park.

DAY THREE

Today we travel a short distance to the Gordan Highlanders Museum. Enjoy a guided tour of the interactive museum, which tells the story of one of Scotland's most famous Army regiments the Highlanders from 1794 – 1994. On the grounds, there is a Victorian Walled Garden and a Replica WW1 Trench to explore.  Later we head to the Aberdeen Art Gallery home to one of Scotland’s finest art by local, national, and international artists, designers, and makers.

DAY FOUR

This morning, we drive to the village of Alford. Where we visit the Grampian Transport Museum home to an impressive range of transport exhibits, from chariots to some of the worlds fastest cars. Later we visit the Alford Heritage Museum showcasing life in Rural Scotland in bygone eras.

DAY FIVE

After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
