A spring-time tour to East Anglia. Highlights are guided tours of the university city of Cambridge and the area made famous by the 18th-century paintings of John Constable. Alongside this we have visits to Bury St Edmunds on market day and the town of Felixstowe.

DAY ONE

Morning departure from your home area travelling to East Anglia and arriving late afternoon at Best Western Priory Hotel. 4 nights stay - dinner, bed and breakfast

DAY TWO

After breakfast, we head out on a guided tour of Constable Country, discovering the idyllic villages along the way. This includes the birthplace of the famous painter himself at East Bergholt - an unspoilt village with many fine old houses and cottages. From here we head towards Felixstowe for lunch and free time to explore Felixstowe.

DAY THREE

This morning we journey the short distance into the historic town of Bury St. Edmunds, famous for its Abbey Gardens and the Angel Hotel, where Dickens had Mrs Pickwick stay.  Today is market day so enjoy free time to browse the market and explore the town at your own leisure.

DAY FOUR

This morning we are off to the famous university city of Cambridge. The city has many fascinating attractions, not least of which are the many colleges. We spend the day here. We first meet our guide for a tour of Cambridge ending with a visit to the American Cemetery. Afterwards, we have a chance to explore the city fully. Maybe have a punt along the river and obtain lunch before we leave.

DAY FIVE

After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
