DAY ONE

Depart from your home area travelling to the Lake District. Arriving late afternoon at the Cumbria Grand Hotel late afternoon. 4 nights stay – dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY TWO

We travel to the port town of Barrow-in-Furness, spending time here before we drive through the Lakes passing Coniston Water to reach Ambleside. We spend some time browsing its wide variety of independent shops, museums and cafes. Later we travel to Bowness-on-Windermere, a tourist hotspot with interesting museums & plenty of places to eat.

DAY THREE

After breakfast we travel to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Where we first make a stop in the idyllic village of Ingleton.  After spending some time here, we continue through the national park taking in the picturesque scenery on our journey to the market town of Hawes. This town is the home for the creamery of the famous Wensleydale cheese – in all its many varieties!  We have free time here and a chance to enjoy our lunch. Later we travel west through the moors making a stop in Sedbergh before we return to our hotel. 

DAY FOUR

Today we head North, traveling via Derwentwater until we reach Keswick, the capital of the North Lakes. Perhaps visit the Keswick Museum, or the Keswick Brewing Company during our stop. You’ll also have time to enjoy lunch. On the way back we stop in Grasmere. This small, but very well-known village is famous for its gingerbread.

DAY FIVE

After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
